The Great Commission

I am not sure that many Christians realize the urgency of Jesus’ command to His disciples that they were to go and make disciples themselves. This is what He said in Matthew 28:18-20.

"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

When you look at it, we are very fast approaching the end of the age. The signs are everywhere, the very signs that Jesus referred to in Matthew 24, and are amplified in other parts of the New Testament. Look, for instance, at the global economic meltdown we have seen recently, and the indications that we are seeing something that is completely unprecedented. It is interesting to hear comments such as a global solution is needed, that we need one global currency, or that we need one global government to effectively fix the problem.

Then there are the signs of increasing lawlessness in every society around the world. More Christians are being martyred for their faith than ever before in human history. There are wars and rumours of wars, and nation is rising against nation. In spite of all the science and technology at the disposal of the human race, famines and pestilences are more prevalent than ever, and it seems that very few people care for their fellow man.

Even the earth is shaking geologically in a way we have not seen before. From the beginning of the year to date, there have been 6119 earthquakes above 4.0 on the Richter scale somewhere in the world. Ninety seven have been above 6.0 on the Richter scale.

The interesting thing is that many people are looking for answers, and are being faced with the fragility of their existence. They need something or someone to put their hope in. Most people do not know where to turn for their answers. And the Bible is a closed book for them. But Growing Deep and Strong has produced Behind the Scenes, a short presentation to get people to think about where the answers to their questions may be found. You can see the video on this website on the Behind the Scenes page, and you can download a copy for yourself. It has already been an excellent means of getting people to realize where they stand presently, and what they can do to get out of the kingdom of darkness into God’s kingdom of light. Visit the Behind the Scenes page, and look at the video for yourself. If you want the presentation in PowerPoint format, you can order it, together with the complete script printed out for you so that you can use it in an interactive way with those you know who need to hear the good news of Jesus. See the products page of the website. It is the first product in the list. That presentation can be sent to you, and you will find it an easy way to talk to people about the most important message they will ever hear.

It is interesting that other religions and also the occult are becoming much more militant in proclaiming their message. Why is that so? Because they also realize that the time is short.

If we as Christians believe that we have the best Good News in the world, then we have to be serious about getting that message out. The Growing Deep and Strong Series has made as it easy as possible for you to do this. You can put “feet on your faith” by using the tools that Growing Deep and Strong puts in your hands.

Go for it! Don’t think that the time available to you is unlimited. It may not be! Use Growing Deep and Strong and experience the thrill of seeing people you know becoming Christians and understanding the Bible for themselves. God has said that He is not slack as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. So when we share the Good News with others, we are confident that we are doing God’s will. And we can be assured of the help of the Holy Spirit, who will make the Good News relevant to those to whom we speak.

And there will great rejoicing in heaven on account of those who come into the kingdom of light as you introduce them to Jesus.
