THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRISTThe Lord Jesus is the Son of God and is the example of the workings of the Holy Spirit in humanity in an unhindered operation. As disciples of Jesus Christ, a son or daughter of God and members of the Ecclesia (Church) we should follow in His footsteps and come under the same workings and unhindered operation of the Holy Spirit. (1 Peter 2:21, Romans 8:20.)

Even though Jesus was God in man, His ministry only really began once the Holy Spirit came upon Him and I will cover that further in this training series.

1—Jesus was born of the Spirit.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST(Luke 1:35) The angel smiled and said, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will surround you. So understand that the child born to you will be the holy Son of God. —The Remedy Bible

(Matthew 1:18) This was how Jesus, God’s Anointed One, was born. His mother, Mary, had promised Joseph to be his wife, but while she was still a virgin she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Vs.19 Her fiancé, Joseph, was a righteous man full of integrity and he didn’t want to disgrace her, but when he learned of her pregnancy he secretly planned to break the engagement.

Vs.20 While he was still debating with himself about what to do, he fell asleep and had a supernatural dream. An angel from the Lord appeared to him in clear light and said, “Joseph, descendant of David, don’t hesitate to take Mary into your home as your wife, because the power of the Holy Spirit has conceived a child in her womb. —TPT.

2—Jesus was filled with the fullness of the Spirit.

(John 3:34) “The One whom God has sent to represent him will speak the words of God, for God has poured out upon him the fullness of the Holy Spirit without limitation.
Vs.35 The Father loves his Son so much that all things have been given into his hands.—TPT.

(John 3:34) For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. Vs.35 The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. —NLT.

3—Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit.

(Matthew 4:1) Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. —NLT.

(Matthew 4:1) Then the Spirit led Jesus into the desert to confront and overcome the temptations of the devil. —The Remedy Bible

(Matthew 4:1) Afterward, the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the lonely wilderness in order to reveal his strength against the accuser by going through the ordeal of testing. —TPT.

(Luke 4:1) And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness —MKJV.

(Luke 4:1) Jesus, with his human mind filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River and was led by the Spirit into the desert —The Remedy Bible.

4—Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit.

(Luke 4:14) And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee. And a report went out throughout all the neighbourhood concerning Him. —MKJV

(Luke 4:14) With his humanity empowered by the Spirit, Jesus returned to Galilee where news about him quickly spread throughout the entire region. —The Remedy Bible.

5—Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit.

(Luke 4:18) “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me; because of this He has anointed Me to proclaim the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and new sight to the blind, to set at liberty those having been crushed—MKJV.

6—Jesus spoke and taught by the Holy Spirit.

(Luke 4:18) “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free—NLT.

7—Jesus healed the sick by the Holy Spirit.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST(Luke 4:18) “God’s Spirit is on me because I am his anointed One to bring the Remedy to the afflicted. He has sent me to bring freedom to those held in the bondage of fear and selfishness, and a clear understanding to those blinded by Satan’s lies, to exterminate oppression, to remove human brokenness —The Remedy Bible.

8—Jesus cast out demons by the power of the Holy Spirit.

(Matthew 12:28) But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you. —NLT.

The remedy Bible says it beautifully when He announces that it is the kingdom of love that is setting the captives free.

(Matthew 12:28) No! We all know it is not by Satan’s power that I drive off demons; it is by the power of God’s Spirit—which is evidence that God’s kingdom of love has arrived. —The Remedy Bible.

9—Jesus was justified (vindicated) by Holy Spirit.

(1Timothy 3:16) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among nations, believed on in the world, and received up into glory. —MKJV.

(1Timothy 3:16) And this Remedy, which restores mankind to God’s ideal, in many ways is a mystery. But we know that Christ left heaven and partook of our fallen humanity, was empowered by the Spirit to set humankind right, revealed the truth about God to the unfallen beings, was proclaimed as the Remedy to all peoples on earth, was trusted and received by many in the world, and was taken to heaven in perfected humanity. —The Remedy Bible.

(1Timothy 3:16) For the mystery of righteousness is truly amazing! He was revealed as a human being, and as our great High Priest in the Spirit! Angels gazed upon him as a man and the glorious message of his kingly rulership is being preached to the nations! Many have believed in him and he has been taken back to heaven, and has ascended into the place of exalted glory in the heavenly realm. Yes, great is this mystery of righteousness! —TPT.

10—Jesus was offered up on Calvary by Holy Spirit

(Hebrews 9:14) Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. —NLT.

(Hebrews 9:14) How much more, then, will the perfect character of Christ—wrought out by Jesus’ great and perfect self-sacrifice according to God’s will and through the working of the eternal Spirit—heal the mind, cleanse the conscience and recreate the character, so we no longer practice methods that lead to death but instead abide in constant love with the living God! —The Remedy Bible.

11—Jesus was resurrected by Holy Spirit.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST(Romans 8:11) But if the Spirit of the One who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One who raised up Christ from the dead shall also make your mortal bodies alive by His Spirit who dwells in you. — MKJV.

The Amplified Bible and The Remedy Bible unpack and expand the significance of what Jesus Christ did for us that the shed blood of animals could never do. And through His sacrifice for us, the Spirit of God resurrected his dead body.

(1Peter 3:18) For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit —AMP.

(1Peter 3:18) for that is exactly what Christ did. He suffered terribly and died once in order to cure sinfulness—to provide a Remedy for all humanity and restore us to unity with God. In Christ, love vanquished selfishness, and righteousness overcame unrighteousness. He allowed the sin-sick to kill him, and in giving himself freely, he triumphed over the infection of selfishness and fear, and was renewed to life by the Spirit of love and truth. —The Remedy Bible.

12—Jesus gave commandments to the disciples by the Holy Spirit.

(Acts 1:2) Just before he ascended into heaven, he left instructions for the apostles he had chosen by the Holy Spirit. —TPT.

13—Jesus baptized and empowered the Ecclesia (church) by the Holy Spirit.

(Acts 1:5) John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. —NLT.

(Acts 1:8) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. —NLT.

Power — G1411 —– δύναμις——- dunamis —— doo’-nam-is

From G1410; force (literally or figuratively); specifically miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself): – ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work. —Total KJV occurrences: 120

14—Jesus directs and governs the Ecclesia (church) by the Holy Spirit.

(Revelation 2:7) “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God. —NLT.

(Revelation 2:11) “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. Whoever is victorious will not be harmed by the second death. —NLT.

The whole life of Jesus as the perfect man was governed by the Holy Spirit. If Jesus depended upon the Holy Spirit in such a manner how much more should we as believers constantly depend upon the Holy Spirit.

All that God has for us and wants to do in us can only be done by the operation of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It is of paramount importance that we as believers and the ecclesia corporately open our hearts and seek the fullness of the Holy Spirit working through us to save a dying and hurting world that is being overrun by Demonic entities working through godless people.

We cannot do it in our own strength, its only when we “partner” with the Holy Spirit and allow him to be the “boss” and direct our lives shall we be able to achieve the greater works than Jesus stated that His disciples would achieve.

(John 14:12) “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
Vs.13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Vs.14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! —NLT.
